The company has also brought on board Rajendra Kalkar, former president of malls and director at Phoenix Mills, to lead its malls and hospitality division.

In its retail and hospitality venture, Adani Group is focusing on developing city-side projects near or within its airport locations. These developments will include shopping centers, multiplexes, food courts, spas, and other amenities. Specific projects include 160 acres at Mumbai airport, 100 acres in Lucknow, 200 acres in Navi Mumbai, 17 acres in Jaipur, and 2 acres in Thiruvananthapuram.

An industry executive mentioned, “The group aims to attract air passengers to their malls, hotels, and multiplexes by developing the real estate around airports.” Additionally, there are plans to potentially develop a mall in Dharavi, which is currently being redeveloped by Adani Realty. This redevelopment in Mumbai, known for housing Asia’s largest slum, is set to become a mixed-use development featuring residential, commercial, and retail spaces.

Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, recently stated that the group will invest around ₹60,000 crore to expand its portfolio of seven airports over the next five to ten years.

Adani Realty, with over 12 years of experience, has developed 22.5 million square feet of properties and is currently working on 35.1 million square feet of new projects. Their ventures include the development of retail spaces and restaurants in Gurugram, Haryana.
